Former "Bachelorette" contestant Julien Hug was found dead near a highway in the desert in California. He was one of the contestants vying to win the heart of "Bachelorette" Jillian Harris in season 5.
According to People Magazine, Julien Hug was 35-years old and lived in San Diego. He was en route to Palm Desert, California, to help his family with their restaurant that is located there. WhenÂ he failed to show up on Monday, his father reported him as missing.
Jillian Harris made the following statement regarding the untimely and tragic death of ormer "Bachelorette" contestant Julien Hug.
"I am completely heartbroken for the Hug family, and my whole heart goes out to them today as they mourn a precious life that ended far too soon," she said. "Itâ€™s very difficult to find the words to express my condolences, but I will always remember Julienâ€™s gentle demeanor and kind heart, which will be sadly missed."
Nothing has been released about the cause of death for Julien Hug. A spokesperson for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said an autopsy will be performed and the cause of death will be released pending those results.
Julien Hug made it to week 2 during season 5 of "The Bachelorette."
How sad that this handsome young man with so much promise has lost his life at such a young age.
