Tina Fey went on The Late Show with David Letterman last night to promote Megamind, but was cajoled into reviving her Sarah Palin impersonation.
Claiming at first not to remember how to do it -- and generally seeming uncomfortable in her black cocktail dress (not Palin's costume of choice) -- Fey said she hadn't been paying much attention to politics of late, what with doing live broadcasts of 30 Rock and all.
Still, she did manage to whip it up pretty quickly. Noting that Palin will now be harder to get along with given all the victories of the candidates she endorsed (Hi, Christine O'Donnell, Joe Miller, and Carl Paladino!), she announced: "All her 'mama grizzlies' are winnin' and they're ... goin' ta Washington, and they're gonna flip your pic-a-nik table, Dave! ... You're gonna hafta tie your food to a tree!"
But it was Letterman who best summed up the entire Palin phenomenon. "I just can't figure out quite, uh ... You know what I mean?"
