Last summer, Rookie Blue was a high point for ABC's summer season. Â The show followed a group of rookies from their first day on the job as they met their training officers and fell in love. Â It was renewed for a second season before its first even ended.
Camille Sullivan Joins Cast
The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Camille Sullivan will be a part of Rookie Blue when the series returns.  Her character will be detective Joe Rosati, and this probably means her other show, Shattered, which airs on Canada's Global Television, isn't looking good.  Sullivan has had roles on other procedural cop dramas before, so she's used to the type.  Lauren Holly, known for playing Director Jenny Shepard on CBS' NCIS, will be around as well as a guest star.  Season 1 of Rookie Blue ended in the beginning of September and had thirteen episodes; season 2 is set to have the same number of episodes.  The first season ended with a two-hour finale event, and fans were treated to the cast tweeting about the episodes and their own party throughout the evening.  Rookie Blue stars Missy Peregrym, Gregory Smith, Enuka Okuma, Travis Milne, and Charlotte Sullivan as the rookies, and Matt Gordon, Ben Bass, and Melanie Nicholls-King as their training officers.  Eric Johnson and Noam Jenkins play detectives on the series and also were involved in romances with two of the rookies, though only one lasted.  Since season 1 introduced viewers to the characters and saw the rookies getting certified, hopefully season 2 will be more about the cases and the romance outside (and inside) the office.  As long as it's as strong as its premiere season, it wouldn't be surprising to see the show bring in numbers that are just as strong as last summer's.
