The results of today's mid-term elections indicate that Massachusetts voters were largely immune to the Republican wave that swept across many other states around the nation. Democrat Deval Partick has won a second term as governor of the Bay State. Democrats also appear likely to win all 10 of the state's seats in the House of Representatives.
Democratic Congressman Barney Frank handily defeated his Republican opponent Sean Bielat in one of the nation's most watched House races. With 88 percent of precincts reporting, CNN showed Frank with a 57-41 percent lead over Bielat.
The victories will undoubtedly be greeted as a rare piece of good news by the embattled Obama administration. The President made a trip to Massachusetts to campaign on behalf of Governor Patrick a few weeks ago, making an impassioned appeal to supporters to help Democrats Get Out the Vote. Democrat's domination of today's elections should help to gloss over the loss of one of the Bay State's Senate seats to Republican Scott Brown earlier this year.

Perhaps. But Brown's victory (thanks MA) spelled the end of climate legislation. Who knows when this country will begin to take global warming seriously. Btw, the biggest parties today are in the board rooms of Exxon and Massey Coal - not to mention Beijing.
Still, this election does not bode well for any federal effort to address climate change. The fossils have gained another few years. Oh - I forgot to mention that there are likely to be parties in Beijing, too. After all, China is serious about dominating the renewable energy world market. In the meantime, any bets on when we will begin to hear the propaganda in support of a war with Iran?
I assume that Paladino is "mad as hell?" -)
