Lily Allen has miscarriage

This sad news comes just weeks after Allen announced that her baby boy would arrive in January. Even more depressing, Allen lost another baby that she was pregnant with a few years ago.

"It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made," her rep tells PEOPLE.

We can't even begin to imagine the heartbreak that Allen must be feeling. On October 30, the singer tweeted, "Say a little prayer" which could have been the first sign that things weren't going well with Allen. It's really hard to imagine losing your baby in the late second / early third trimester. It's almost like you've made it so far and then it all ends without notice.

Although Allen miscarried before, it's unknown if she had any complications that put her at a higher risk. Hopefully she and Sam Cooper will find some peace through all of this.
