The last I heard that if you earn over $600 on Gather in a year, you have to pay taxes on those earnings. Has anyone on Gather ever made enough to be taxed?

I am no where near $600 this. Or had been any other year here.
Hello Dee!
Here is some information that you might find useful:
Dee — Yes. From what has been shared by Gather, some members earn well over that amount each month.
Thomas — Yes. Gift cards are considered income and will be factored into your total earnings for a calendar year. From a tax perspective, even coupons/vouchers you win from Gather could be construed as income.
I'd say I take fewer breaks from life to visit Gather than I take breaks from Gather to visit life. :P
