Holly, have you had any personal experiences with God?
I've had as much personal experience with God as I have with Santa Claus and Freddy Krueger.
I was raised in the church from the ages of 2 to 18 so unfortunately I've had plenty of personal experiences with his followers.

So your perception of God has been based on what others have told you, and how others have acted towards you? But nothing personal?
It's hard to have a personal experience with a mythological being.
I didn't need anyone to tell me he doesn't exist. I figured that out when I was a kid.

Gary - I watched the video on that site. ZERO evidence. Just because somebody wrote in the Bible that the tomb was empty ...that's not EVIDENCE.

How about some historical documentation or other non-Biblical source that ANYONE mentioned in the Bible actually existed?

Why is that not evidence? It is a historical account. What evidence are you looking for?

Also, there is more historical evidence for the Bible than any other book ever written. There are many non-biblical historical accounts. What research have you done?

Gary - The Bible is not historical documentation. Can you name ONE SINGLE source aside from the Bible that shows that any of the people mentioned in the Bible even existed?

I will have to disagree with you about the bible being historical document. The bible is the very foundation of creation.

Noah's Ark was found, that is one account.

A non-biblical account of Jesus is found in the historical writings of Josephus.
There may have been a person named Jesus but if he was the son of "God" then I'm the Queen Of England. There were many people claiming to be the Messiah during the period that the Roman Empire ruled over the Jews.

I don't believe in "god" for the same reason that I don't believe in any other mythological being: no evidence!
Although if there was a "god" I would hope that he wasn't the vain, petty, vindictive a**hole that the Bible and his followers make him out to be. He certainly wouldn't be a creature worthy of worship.

There is a God. Your description isn't the God I know.

What is your experience with God?
You think there is a "God". Good for you. I don't think that there is a "God". Since there is no "God" my experience with him has obviously been nil.
You say you "know" God? Do you also know Zeus and Quetzlcoatl? Do the four of you get together for tea and crumpets and a circle jerk?

Problem is "God" is a concept that can't easily be understood. Yet, man had to create God in his image with a phony anthropomorphized version who seems to have all the worst attributes of puny humans. Worse yet, "believers" think God has spoken to them and presume a righteous posture over non-believers and think their mission is to regulate the moral code of all humans.
