Director Christopher Nolan, having gotten Inception out of his system, is now back to concentrating on the third film in his Batman series, the sequel to The Dark Knight. And what might the title of this film be? The Darker Knight? The Dark Day? Knights in Dark Satin?
No, no, and no. It's The Dark Knight Rises. Huh. The Los Angeles Times surmises that this might mean that Aaron Eckhart's Two-Face/Harvey Dent will return as the film's main villain, which would seem odd given that he died in the 2008 movie, but hey! Things like this happen in the comix, I guess.
Also, about that much-repeated rumor that a certain green-clad, grinning guy will be the new film's chief baddie? "It won't be the Riddler," Nolan declares.
The Times fails to get much in the way of additional detail out of Nolan, except for this: "We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones."
Groundbreaking! The film, which with any luck at all won't feature Mr. Freeze as the main bad guy, is due out in 2012.
