The owner of The Kringle Candle Company has followed in the strong and vibrant footsteps of his father, Michael Kittredge II. The Kittredge family founded the Yankee Candle Company back when 20-year-old Michael Kittredge was a tike. Now, Michael Kittredge III has started his own candle business, called The Kringle Candle Company.
The father and son attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Kringle Candle Company together. Michael Kittredge III described his father helping him open his own candle business “was special to him.†It is because Kittredge III has helped his father cut many ribbons and open many stores for the Yankee Candle Company.
This grand opening of Kringle Candle Company has an ironic twist to it. Kittredge II founded the Yankee Candle Company when he was only 16 years old. Now, the Kringle Candle Company began in the son’s basement at the ripe age of 17 years old.
Therefore, the the Kringle Candle is considered “Yankee Candle’s baby!†Isn’t that cute? The Kringle Candle Company is even located near the Yankee Candle store in Deerfield. The purchase of the building cost Michael Kittredge III $480,000! It sure
sounds as if the son is getting some mighty big help from papa Yankee.
Did you know that Michael Kittredge II sold Yankee Candle back in 1998 for $400 million? It sounds as if the father regretted making the legendary Yankee Candle’s widespread!
The Kringle Candle Company has released 36 fragrance-scented candle. Some of the favorite smells are Nantucket rose, peppermint twist and gingerbread. The candles are constructed at the Kringle Candle Company store’s location in Deerfield.
