As a child who was born and raised in American poverty, I know what it is like to be "poor". Although my mother could not give me a quarter for video games, she did give me lots of love, a roof over my head, and an ethical thought process. In addition, we didn't die of malnutrition because the US Government supplied much of our nutritious meals and provided food stamps as well.
As you will discover, there is a huge disparity between our poor and middle class, but we cannot forget the World! I saw this video and cried. Ever seen what it is like to beg for hope? I say hope because I believe most of the adults have lost hope, while most children still believe anything is possible! Sadly, many have been murdered and raped by men that are worse than animals. I say worse than animals because, according to Immanuel Kant, those humans who stay outside the perforated box of laws and ethics are worse than animals because they have rational thought. Although "killing" must occur for survival in some cases, many wartime, dictator, and tribal lords murder and cause suffering because they enjoy witnessing the evil!
I am happy the video was recommended for a Webby Award because I couldn't find the video in the past. If you don't mind, I ask that you watch the video before reading the material on taxes.

What About the Poor? Taxes?
I decided to investigate some of the Republican and Democrat Tax claims. Should the "Tax-Cuts be extended? Who should be Taxed? Lower, Second, Middle, Fourth, Highest, Top 10%-1%? I don't know since it is a complicated issue but I have an opinion! :•)
Household Number:
Since 1979, the number of Households has increased linearly and all categories appear to follow the same trend. Interestingly, there seems to be some exchange between Lowest and Second quintiles. During 1999-2000, Â "internet bubble", Â the number in the Lowest quintile increased and there seemed to be an exchange between the Second and Middle quintile. In 1993, all quintiles except the highest meet at the same household number but the rate of household numbers increase for "Lowest" quintile is fastest, the rate of second, third, and fourth quintile are fairly constant but there is some variations. At 2001, the number of households in the lowest quintile exceeds the number in highest, which is similar to the "position of quintiles" in 1987. The Highest quintile approaches the Second, Middle, and Fourth quintiles and the rate of households in the Second quintile decreases while the Middle quintile has the greatest movement.
Pre-Tax and Post-Tax Income, 1979 - 2007:
As one can see, there is an "increase" in taxation between the $100,000 to $264,000 range. The trend lines diverge, "spread", while other Incomes remain fairly constant. In other words, the difference between the pre and post is fairly constant, while the difference between the higher income is greater in the later years. Also, one can see that the highest quintile has the greatest divergence after the internet bubble, but that quintile also has the greatest rate of recovery. Interestingly, the highest quintile had a fairly stable rate between 1990, but became more erratic between 1990 and 2007. Sadly, the lowest quintile is pretty stagnant, while the second, middle, fourth, and highest have a "positive rate" of change, and the highest has the fastest rate of all with the greatest variability.
Finally:
The highest quintile of the middle class is taxed pretty heavily and data seems to imply the internet bubble negatively impacted this quintile the most. Was the top 10% to 1% affected as severely?
Also, I did not graph other taxes. The Republicans claim the lower income populations "taxes" have increased due to excise taxes-cigaret  taxes, which may be true. Also, the Republicans are not happy with the costs of the "health bill".
My Personal Opinion:
I believe Corporations can be taxed more (5), the top 10% can afford more taxes, and the middle class should experience a negative "change" in taxation, but I believe the change should be minimized.

A Needed Discussion!
You are NOT ALONE!
With that said, I would like to add the following links to all of my posts. I hope others will copy and paste the same into their posts as well. The best way to end corruption is to discuss corruption. At the root of most criminal enterprises are corrupt police, citizens, and politicians. The latter are grandmas, grandpas, fathers, mothers, police, church deacons, etc. Be warned, the corrupt people in your environment could begin harassing you.
Some Information and Brief References about Whistleblowers:
• Wikileaks and "What is a Whistleblower?"
Much of the "legal" debate about "whistleblower laws", which includes lobbyist, is the balance between organizational leadership responsibility, who should receive the first report, and the role of a whistleblower. As Mr. Gayl, who is a whistleblower that saved soldier's lives, mentions, GAP is an "outsider", and he shows frustration with his "organizations" ability to handle the complaint effectively. In some instances, a whistleblower may be "blowing the whistle" for unethical reasons. If their "complaint", after proper investigation, is deemed inappropriate, the organization should have an authority to "reprimand" or "retaliate" against the employee. Sadly, many organizations and criminals take advantage of big hearts, balanced people, and ethical beliefs. We see this in regular crime, which includes corporate crime as well. On many occasions, corporations work to create "loopholes" that make a law ineffective. Many people have died because of corporate irresponsibility. Although I am an advocate for corporations, I believe in ethical processes.
I love my country, but we have a problem. Spoiled Americans will kill for sport and bullying is an example. Another term for bullying is "gang stalking", which may be more appropriate, but the legal term may be the defined term of "bullying". Some corporate employees and "friends of organizations" use harassment, "bullying or stalking", and believe it is not that bad, but, in truth, it is considered emotional torture-adults and children should refrain. If an adult "bullies", a child will follow their example.

As many know, a Multi-national Study by World Health Organization (1) reports that abused women and men believe "emotional abuse" is worse than physical abuse because it causes life-long psychological trauma and is virtually impossible to prove. The inability to "prove" is why many "pillars" will engage. In fact, corrupt societies are breeding grounds for such activity.
STOP SEX Trafficking! and Meth!
Support Senator Ron Wyden in his fight against sex-trafficking. Although the Pacific Northwest is the worse US location, it is an American problem and probably associated with the Meth network. Tell me corrupt police do not know about this activity.

Why engage in activity that can increase the numbers? By the way, the numbers cause increased "disability" claims in the USA and Canada. "Males do not represent two discrete populations, heterosexual and homosexual. The world is not divided into sheep and goats. Not all things are black nor all things white. It is a fundamental of human taxonomy that nature rarely deals with discrete categories. Only the human mind invents categories and tries to force facts into separated pigeon-holes. The living world is a continuum in each and every one of its aspects. The sooner we learn this concerning human sexual behavior the sooner we shall reach a sound understanding of the realities of sex. (p. 639)"-Kinsey, Pomeroy, & Martin, 1948
