McDonald's Plans to Raise Prices to Offset Commodity Cost - Will the Dollar Menu be Two Dollars?

I've already seen prices start to climb.. Coffee took a $.80 to $1.00 jump..

i can not afford to take my family to mcDonalds as is and now with the raise in price i will never be able to everything is costing more and more people are out of work and or just barly making ends meet and there are many many familys that are homeless this is really starting to get scary

Commodities? Most everything on the "dollar" menu hardly has anything fresh or tasteful anyway. You're lucky to find a leaf of iceberg lettuce (no nutritional value whatsoever) on a value chicken sandwich. Their fries can withstand 2 weeks before decomposition AND are blacklight sensitive. And the burgers... they're mostly soy ingredients.

Well it figures,i hope they dont drive there business ,out of business, big corps. like Mcdees dont care there is to much money involved and then you will see them go back , because people will stop buying and they will see there money not coming in as usual, Well have your way?

They show hugh profits but have to raise prices of thier commodities? Sounds like greed talking here to me. I'll admit I love McDonalds, but this kinda ticks me off!

Say as long as their are other "fast food" places in town that offer better prices.. people may find their "quick fix" elsewhere. I think more and more people as their budget gets tight will end those stops anyway. I know my family has over the last few years. I think I have cooked more meals in the last year than I had before too because of all the "fast food". Maybe as McD's decides to increase their prices, people will lose weight as they won't be such a cheap taste treat after all. Once people realize how many calories that stuff is it can really make you stop and think.

I know a lot of people feel America is fat because of McDonalds and there was some outcry over the toys in the Happy Meals ...luring the kids.. I think McD's marketing department decided to counter that and I saw ads with kids saying how buying a happy meal helps give kids hope...that McD's will do donations..

I think the only way that people will realize what they are doing when they eat a big Mac is for fast food to have to put the amount of calories right on the rapper.

Big Mac with cheese is 704 calories. Medium fries 380 Medium Coke 210 for a grand total of
1,294 calories...

When I was in the hospital years ago I was given 1,200 calories for the whole day....

I bet more people would make better choices if they had to mark their food with the calorie count.

So raise the prices, maybe a few people will eat healthier.

To be fair to McD's a Burger King Whopper with cheese is 760 calories.

their food is not worth eating they raise the price the customers will leave

My husband and I don't even ever go nor take our kids there anymore with there prices the way they are. It is so over priced for the poor quality of food you get. We just take our kids to Red Robin and they get a real burger and all you can eat real fries that is decent for $6.95, paying a little extra to add a drink is well worth it!

I believe McDonalds is hiking prices because of the healthcare reform that will take effect in 2014. In an article I read recently McDonalds indicated that they are going to lay people off because they won't be able to afford this new bill.

Under federal law, Social Security payments are adjusted each year for inflation.

However, this coming January will the be second time in a row some. It was many years ago the last time this happened.

Why? Economic data shows a DEFLATION of prices.

Did this McDonalds "CFO" attend the same university as those Wall Street banking "Wizards"?
