Thanks so much for sharing! Have you seen the new movie that's out now, "I Want Your Money?" It's kind of a "claymation" type movie......or computer generated animation......really clever....I've seen trailers from it, and it looks really cool! I really want to see it, but out of the tons and tons of movie theatres in our city (probably around 20 or 30), only ONE is showing this particular movie.
I'm going to try and talk the guys into going to see it this weekend.

Which candidates are not the candidates of big money? I see big money commercials for Republicans and even a few for Democrats. They are all controlled by big money and our government always has been. (The Civil War was a squabble between big money interests in the North and South.) The only real solution is to change the nature of our money. (I know. That doesn't register, does it. )

It will never happen if we all agree it will never happen and do nothing.

I think (given my situation) that "it will never happen" is an excuse to not take responsibility. It's a way of being lazy. :-(

It's first of all a problem of education.

Peter, I agree with you, big money has always had an influence. The saving grace is that it is individuals who vote. The more disclosures of who is being funded by whom and the "whys" will help educate all voters. We need to teach everyone that if someone claims to be against big corporations but receives mega bucks from that same entity, his/her "words" are not to be trusted.

We get lied to all the time, both sides.... Follow the money... then make an educated decision.

Exactly Peter, but we have to be able to stem that tide. I know 130 million dollars spent in CA by one canidate could have feed and clothed a lot of people. What a waste.

I think only the shame factor will work. Shame on those who have bought the vote in the past and still think they can buy the future of the U.S.A. Hmmmmmm... Maybe they forgot we are in the information age and those who eek out a living can now go to the local library and do the research on their candidates. Oh and let's not forget the dirt plastered all over the medias.

To get the Big Money out of the government, we need to get the government out of the piles of Big Money. Since history shows us that voting doesn't work, that's been tried over and over again with always still the same results, it would seem the only solution comes down to a hands on situaltion... And a booted foot or two.
