Thanks to every one who read my recent post marking the 50 day out point from Black Friday. Today, popular Black Friday website BlackFriday@gottadeal.com released the first ad of the season and it's from (drumroll please): Harbor Freight.
Hmm...one of those strange stores that you even wonder why they bother with Black Friday and if they really do that much business on a day when most people are buying clothes for teens, jewelry for moms and toys for tots. Bless his heart, my Dad did always look forward to seeing the Black Friday Harbor Freight ad. The nearest one is located about 30 minutes away. I don't think he ever found anything worth driving the 30 minutes for, but he was a good sport and often ventured out with me on Black Friday. In fact, one of my best memories is shopping with my dad on one of the first real Black Fridays...it was Thanksgiving, 1987. I had gotten my first real job after college. Big K (now Wal-Mart) was offering a limited number of medium-sized television sets for (memories a little fuzzy here) I believe $99. I didn't have a t.v., so we got up very early and were among the first people at Wal-Mart. When I returned to my apartment the following week, I was very happy to tune into "The Cosby Show" and "Family atters.
But I digress. Back to Harbor Freight's Black Friday Ad.
If you're suspicious or not-so-secure at home, you can pick up a four-camera DVR security system for $250. I don't think installation is included. One of those wrist blood pressure monitors is only $12.99...seems like a good bargain. Lots of tools and hardware...you guys may want to check it out.
Thanks for reading my article. Please allow me to be the first to wish you a happy holiday!
