Lance Armstrong is celebrating the birth of his fifth child, a circumstance that is providing the cycling champion a rare opportunity of late to appear in the limelight for a positive reason.
Armstrong has been the topic of cheating rumors for years, though he's never tested positive for anything illegal and nobody ever corroborated any of the rumors. The birth of his daughter gives him a break from that rumor mill and is reason for he and his girlfriend to celebrate.
Olivia Marie Armstrong is the second child for Lance and his girlfriend, Anna Hansen, according to the New York Daily News. Armstrong's other three children were with his ex-wife, Kristin Richard.
Lance Armstrong celebrated the birth of his new child the way anyone would - with a Tweet, of course.
"Olivia Marie Armstrong has arrived!" Armstrong wrote. "Thanks to you all for the support and well wishes. Momma and Olivia are doing great. She's a beauty."
Of course, Olivia is already a veteran Tweeter herself, having established a Twitter account herself six months ago before her birth was even on the immediate horizon.
"I'm 'bout ready to get outta here!" she Tweeted Sunday.
Rumors of Armstrong's involvement in that announcement may be the kind that actually holds some water.
