Doctor Who has been a popular television series for the BBC. Â It ran 26 seasons starting back in 1963, and its revival is currently six seasons strong from 2005. Â Its most recent stars have included Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant as the Ninth and Tenth Doctors respectively, and Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, and Catherine Tate as companions. Â Now Matt Smith is the Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan plays his companion Amy Pond.
A Doctor Who Movie?
Matt Smith is all for BBC making a Doctor Who movie. Â He has said "there is something brilliantly televisual about Doctor Who but I think it could definitely work as a film." Â Although he would love to be the Doctor in the film, he does have an idea about who else he would love to star in a feature film of the BBC show: "Johnny Depp would be a fine actor to do it. Â There's no doubt he'd be a good Doctor." Â But he's still campaigning for himself to play the role if it were to ever happen (which it most likely won't because of "budget restraints").
What do you think? Â Do you think Doctor Who would work as a movie?
