The first thing I tried in this battle of the fleas was the Sargent flea and tick shampoo that is suppose to kill fleas for 10 days ya right it didn't even kill fleas for 10 minutes those little suckers were still going threw poor Fuzzy's fur like nothing had ever happened to them. Don't waste your money on that stuff.
Next step call in the vet:
Recommendation: flea pills called Comfortis~Spinosad
Fuzzy could use the comfort of flea relief so lets give this a try. Picked up the pills at the price of 14.98 to stop her suffering id paid double. This pill must be given with food so I stopped at burger king for dogie burgers (buck double plain) they will always eat those and a quick way to get the pills down with out having to worry about the stomach upset and vomiting the pills can cause. They come in the easy to remove from blister packs so keep them were dogs cant get to them on their own just like you do with the heart worm chewies

step one feed the burger those were gone in 5 minutes. Also with this test are my moms two dogs Bruce and Eve which weigh in at 100+ pounds so we will see if this works on small and large dogs.
Now how easy with it be to give the dogs their pills. For fuzzy it consisted of just holding it out and the pill was gone. Fuzzy is a doper if its in pill for she will eat it. Before I got her she OD on a bottle of tyenlo so all drugs in this house have to be kept locked up and out of her reach.

Eve took a bit of convincing by telling her I was going to give hers to fuzzy so she took it and ate it.
Bruce on the other hand is a night mare to get any pills into no matter if they taste like beef or not even heart worm chewies must be cut up and put in cream cheese to get them down him. But once cut and covered in cream cheese it was gone. The vet recommends cream cheese to get dogs to take their meds as long as its something that can be given with dairy its cool and with these pills it helps in coating the stomach.
3 dogs and not one vomited the pills up so the cheese burgers and cream cheese did what it needed to do.
Last night not long after the pill was given fuzzy seamed like she was getting some relief. And today she even seams better Shes not stopping every two seconds to scratch which was driving me insane and her too. Bruce and eve seam to be doing fine too but they were not in as much misery as was the Fuz was.
The vet said the people who have tried this are giving feedback of 100% flea control. And no messy Goo on the fur, no bath or getting wet restrictions.
With the tropicals you must not bath for three days before or 3 days after use for them to work. You have to try and keep the dog out of rain for 3 days which is hard when they need to potty during a downpour.
So with this I have to say so far so good!! If I see any more fleas I think I will also give the dawn dish liquid a try. I will keep posting about this so that anyone interested in the pill will know how its working.

Thank you so much for sharing with Animal & Nature photos, videos and posts.
Aslo, my 3 dogs are all pretty big dogs. When giving pills, I just open their mouths wide, stick my hand down the back of their throats, drop the pill, and then rub and pet their neck to make sure it goes down. My husband thinks that terrible and really abuse, but it's over in one second and it really doesn't hurt them. Others have asked how I could be that brave to stick my hand down a pit bull's throat... ummm... duhhh... if it's YOUR dog, there should be no reason to be afraid.
I hope this works for the pooches.
Not my favorite thing to do, spreading poison on the ground once or twice a year (depending on how much rain we get) but I cannot live with fleas and ticks on the dogs, (I have 3----2 small, 1 lg--- all indoor dogs) and I'd rather treat my ground than be giving them the insecticide internally on a regular schedule, so I spread those little stinky granules on my fenced acre when rain is coming within an hour or so and call it done.
I do, however, avoid the area around my well. :o)
She just bathes them with OLD STOCK Sergeant's flea shampoo, the green formula---the new versions do NOT work at all!!) in between major outbreaks of fleas. (she and I bought up all that our local animal supply store had when we found the formula was changing)
