Book Sale In Town

In my town we have this big warehouse that deals in books, and certain electronics, such as xbox systems and the games that go along with them. They also have music CD's and DVD's.  It's about 2 blocks from my house. They are going to have a sale on November 5th, to sell off the books they can't sell to businesses and such.  Oh I do so love this sale. Usually, they have brand new paperbacks for 25 cents and hard back books for 50 cents. Also, during the last 2 or 3 hours they often reduce those prices, if you can imagine that.

Last year they gave me a box at the end of the sale, and told me I could fill it for 2 dollars, I do believe I that I got about 40 books for that 2 dollars.  I am so excited I can't wait for this sale.

Last year, I also got the whole series of "Planet Earth" by the BBC on Blue Ray for 5 dollars. That's 11 episodes of Planet Earth for 5 dollars. Awesome! I looked it up online, Amazon was selling it for 60 dollars. This event has every sort of book you can imagine. At the end of the sale when I filled the box, for 2 dollars, I didn't even look to closely at the books, I just put them in the box. I got a ton of kids books, which I gave to the youngins in my family for Christmas.  I can't wait.

I have the good fortune to be immune from book sales now. I am no longer looking for used books to sell, and I have enough to read for the rest of my life and longer. What I need to do is get rid of some.

Wow, sounds like quite a sale I would stock up for Christmas. The deal you got on Planet Earth is amazing. My husband would've loved that. I watched the whole series on tv. It was gorgeous.

Oh my, I am a "bookaholic," with tons and tons of stacks of books all over our small house!!!! Must have 500 or so around here, but I absolutely love to read and cannot resist books. I'm trying to restrain myself, as right now I'm reading 5 different books at a time........I really have more than enough to probably last me several years............I'm trying to start telling myself NO to books!!!! That sale does sound great, though!

my wife would kill me though,as I already have hundreds of thousands of books in my collections....she just gives me that look everytime I mention going book shopping..

or worse yet...
when I come home with a big find of books tossed out for the garbage to collect and trash them... . . .
I hate to see them go that way . . . . . .

We used to have several outlet type stores nearby that I used to enjoy going to. New books at bargain prices! Unfortunately they all went out of business. FF

Yes they are this one is all new books for real cheap. This year I got a book called Cabinet of Natural Curiosities for 1 dollar and saw it online selling for anywhere from 100 to 500 dollars. What a deal. Thanks rainne
