The rough economy is to blame for the Queen's Christmas party cancellation.
Queen Elizabeth II has canceled the annual Christmas party that she throws for her staff, which includes over 600 people, not including their guests. MSNBC reports that the Queen feels it inappropriate to celebrate while the rest of the country is feeling the strain of the economy.
While some may look at the Queen's decision as being appropriate and thoughtful, others find it a little much that the Queen is taking away the staff holiday party which really has nothing to do with others in the country.
"It's the first time in memory the party's been canceled. We're all devastated as it's a great night when everyone lets their hair down" says a
worker via MSNBC. The party that was to be held would have cost approximately $80,000.
What do you think about the Queen's decision to cancel the holiday party? Was it noble of her? Should she have taken that away from her workers just because the economy is bad?
