Socialite and celebrity Kim Kardashian has officially reached the Twitter 5 million mark in terms of followers. It's a major milestone that only a handful of top celebrities or important people on Twitter have reached. Now that short list includes Miss Kardashian.
According to the report from US Magazine, Kim Kardashian hit the 5 Million follower mark for Twitter on this past Monday evening. Apparently Kim was eager to see her account hit the milestone too, claiming "Last night I was glued to my laptop when I saw I was close to getting my five millionth follower on Twitter." The reality TV star was gushing over her new status. She later added "I can't believe it! I love you so much."Â
Kim will also have another new reality show, for those who need to do more "Keeping up with the Kardashians." The new show will be called "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," and as it sounds will be set in NYC, starting in January of next year. For now though, Kim will continue shopping, partying and tweeting!
As far as Twitter goes, Kim Kardashian ranks as the #7 user on the site. Topping the list are Lady Gaga with over 6 million followers, followed by Britney Spears, Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber, President Obama and Ellen DeGeneres. The next stars who could hit the 5 million mark could be Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey and Katy Perry. And by the way, the Twitter Twitter profile is ranked 11th. Strange, even on their own website!
So will Kim Kardashian now at 5 million Twitter followers be able to take the top spot away from Lady Gaga? Only if she keeps tweeting and finds more ways to make headlines!
