'Machete' star Jessica Alba recently told the U.K. edition of GQ that she loves her post-baby body two years after the birth of her daughter, Honor, but not for the reasons you'd think.
While Alba openly admits, “My breasts are saggy, I’ve got cellulite, (and) my hips are bigger..", traits that most women abhor, she follows up by saying, "I love it. I'm way more comfortable since I had a baby. I’m far less self-conscious now that I have her to worry about."
The actress, who states that “I used to have anxiety attacks before I did the photo shoots. I’d never worn high heels to even dresses before I did movies,†is widely regarded as one sexy mama, but sees beauty and superficial concerns as taking a backseat to her most important role: motherhood.
Alba also opened up to the magazine about her thoughts on plastic surgery, saying, “I hate the idea of trying to freeze time. I believe in growing old as nature intended and, if the movie roles dry up as a result, then so be it.â€
Good for her! What a fantastic role model Honor has to look up to! So many women are so concerned with beauty and their bodies and age lines, and it sends the wrong message to young girls. It's refreshing to see a celebrity so down-to-Earth and promoting such a positive self-image.
