Susan Sarandon opened up about her split from Tim Robbins saying that she was sadder after it occurred. Sarandon also believed she would never split from Tim Robbins but after 23 years together that's what happened.
AZ Central states that after Susan Sarandon's split from Tim Robbins, 51, was announced, she would have fans approach her and tell her how sad they were that her longtime relationship to Robbins had ended. Those moments made Sarandon, 63, realize that she was even sadder then them.
Susan Sarandon said, "People were coming up to me in the street and saying, 'I cried and I cried when I heard.' Well, I was sadder. I didn't think it would ever happen either."
Speaking about her split from Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon said, "You bring people into your life at certain times. Maybe you have a relationship to have children and you realize that it's fulfilled after that point."
Susan Sarandon also spoke about her decision not to remarry following her divorce in 1979 to her daughter, Eva Amurri's father Chris Sarandon. Susan said, "I thought that if you didn't get married you wouldn't take each other for granted as easily. I don't know if after twentysomething years that was still true."
The fact that Susan Sarandon split from Tim Robbins after 23 years speaks volumes about the love the two did share at one time. They did have happy years together and at least they are cordial to each other not. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have two adult sons together: Jack, 21, and Miles, 18. Hopefully Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins will move on to other fulfilling relationships while maintaining a friendship with each other.
