I think I should go buy one. I think we are using the router from Verizon and I'm pretty sure they are charging us a rental fee. If I can get one under $100 I think it's worth buying one instead of using theirs.

yes they are charging you a fee, if they are anything like Comcast. i got mine for under 60, so you can DIFFIDENTLY get one for under 100. the rental fee is their little way of scamming those who dont know better.

this isnt really a "toy" though, without it, the Laptop i have is useless, well i guess it could be a really expensive solitaire machine...lol. funny thing is, by the standards set by most of my family and friends, i have very few...i just know what i want and focus only on that...

i have one they are very nice. though they don't work outside the home. like on the road, when i really want to use my computer!

my wife has a 3G phone, so if there is a need to get online we can do that while out, but the need doesnt come up much. but its nice too have!

We need a new one - at least I think we do, it just loses Internet connection several times a day - drives me nuts!

could be the problem, or it could be your network adapter in your computer itself, try updating the drivers, that might help

I'm currently using a Verizon default router -- in part, out of laziness after the move. We'll see whether I change my mind about that in a month or two.

Sheesh, I wish I could, but alas, DSL is just now available here in this small hick town...I'm not causing any trouble for them, at least not til they get it working!! hahahah

ooooh, its not there yet, i got'cha. i remember having to wait for high speed in my parents town. and then having to bug my parents for 2 years after it got there lol. now life without it is unimaginable
