The sixth season of Supernatural kicked off last Friday with "Exile on Main Street," which showed Dean living a normal life (or at least trying to) and Sam returning to his brother's side--but not for good. Â Sam left to continue hunting with their relatives, the Campbells, while Dean stayed with Lisa and Ben.
"Two and a Half Men" Promo

"Sam investigates a case about missing babies whose parents are being murdered. Â At one of the crime scenes, he discovers a baby that was left behind and calls Dean for help. Â Reluctant to leave Lisa and Ben, Dean finally agrees to meet Dam ands surprises his brother with how parental he has become. Â The brothers take the baby to Samuel, who decides to raise it as a hunter, which infuriates Dean. Â However, before they can decide the baby's future, a shape-shifter breaks in and attempts to kidnap the baby." (IMDB)
The promo (below) shows a woman with a bloody arm and her baby underneath a bed, scared. Â Next Sam is shown driving and calling Dean for help, who says he's out, but Sam tells him, "make an exception." Â It turns out the mother was killed and the baby kidnapped. Â Dean is shown watching the baby in a motel room, but then Sam calls and tells him that the baby is a monster and Dean is shown being thrown across the room.
Sneak Peek - Sam Needs Dean's Help
The sneak peek (below) is the scene where Sam calls Dean because he needs help on his latest case. Â Even though Dean says he's out, he's still salting the windows. Â Sam "threatens a drive-by," and Dean wants to know why. Â Sam's answer is apparently enough to get Dean to agree to meet him. Â When Dean shows up, he looks in the backseat of Sam's car, and Sam tells him, "Welcome to the party, Guttenberg," referencing actor Steve Guttenberg and the 1987 movie, 3 Men and a Baby.
Â
This episode is the return of the shape shifter, a creature the boys have faced in the past.  But now supernatural beings are acting differently, at least according to Samuel, who isn't what he seems.  It'll be interesting to see how that comes across in terms of the shape shifter, since the djinns in the season premiere were able to blend in as humans.  It's not too much of a stretch to have Dean as being fatherly--John left him alone with Sam when he went on hunts when the Winchester boys were young.  But how do you think he's going to act when he's stuck taking care of a monster baby?
What do you think of the promo and sneak peek? Â Will you be watching Supernatural on Friday?
