Blogger Mike Stark reported on his blog "Stark Reports" that Lisbeth Lyons, a lobbyist for the printing industry, is Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner's girl on the side. Lisbeth Lyons is the VP of Government Affairs for the Printing Industries of America.
At this point, it's difficult to tell whether there's anything to this or if it's pure bunk. The GOP's newly-released "Pledge to America" was the story of the day yesterday and John Boehner, who stands to become Speaker of the House if the Republicans win it back this November, is it's chief pusher. So liberals have a lot of incentive to try and hurt the Republican leader's public image. Also, Mike Stark doesn't provide anything in the way of sources or context of the relationship, only saying that he "began hearing this from several sources last month."
However, it is very interesting that when Stark actually called Lisbeth Lyons to ask for her comment on the matter before he brought it to press, she could only say "No comment," rather than a firm denial. One would think that if the story was completely false, she would have been able to say "Absolutely not! Eww!"
It seems people are just hearing about the Lisbeth Lyons story today, so we'll see in coming days whether the story has legs. And whether Americans care either way.
Here's an audio recording of Mike Stark's supposed call to Lisbeth Lyons:

His Name is pronounced Boner???
I was very brief in my comment because I am working on fighting a nasty urge to hope it's true.
On a second note if it were true wouldn't the dems all love him now, isn't that one your main mantra's for a man in power to cheat on his wife or is it just taking advantage of young women...I forget....lol
Make that a double "ew" if it's true, and shame on the reporter if it's not.
Is Mr. Stark somehow specially positioned to hear rumors that others don't?
Is there any reason that vast legions of GOP-opponents would not chase & dig after & exploit such dirt on Boehner? If it actually existed?
Maybe because they don't think it's important? Maybe Boehner is more discreet in his private life than the average politician?
As I said above, I think linking him to a woman is unlikely although I really don't care if he has extramarital affairs with consenting adults. Animals or minor humans would be interesting.
A coy way to invite speculation that his tan & wardrobe suggest something juicy about the man, which we coyly won't name, but will un-cleverly refer to by the code-word, "red flags"?
You haven't got what it takes to just say what it is that you want us to hear, without you actually saying it?
Is this the best you can do?
