Vampire Diaries Recap - Episode 2.03 - Wolves Are Out And Ready To Attack

Thursday night has arrived, and that means it is time for an another all-new episode of "The Vampire Diaries" on CW. This week's episode 2.03 is titled "Bad Moon Rising." Finally, it will be known just what the Lockwood family secret is. Not that it has been kept much of a secret. Stefan better watch his back because it looks the wolf comes after him in this episode from the clips that have been released during this week.

A Road Trip For Knowledge

This week's episode starts out with a road trip for details. Damon wants to know about the Lockwoods, and Elena wants to know about her mother. Elena joins Damon and Alaric as he returns to take care of his wife's belongings, Isobel. Tyler is also getting more pesty about his family history. He finds the old estate and a cellar. When he asks his mother about it, she isn't too willing to talk about it. Stefan does have a plan to help Caroline. He wants Bonnie to make Caroline a ring like the ones he and Damon have, so she can return to her life and walk in the daylight. Bonnie is reluctant to cast the spell at first, but she agrees to do it as long as it is known that if Caroline goes bad, she will revoke the spell. She casts the spell, and it works. Caroline is free to walk among the living.

Once at the college Isobel worked at, things get interesting! As Damon, Elena and Alaric are going through Isabel's things in her office, a student of hers, Vanessa, comes in and attacks Elena thinking she is Katherine. Damon moves quickly to protect her and Alaric takes care of the woman.

Elena has to pull the arrow out of him. She enjoys doing it, and he is looking to kill the woman that did it. She stops him from doing it by threatening him. He accuses her of manipulating him. Vanessa apparently recognized Elena as Katherine and Damon Salvatore from Isobel's research. She agrees to help them when asked to look at her research. As for Stefan, he is trying to help Caroline learn how to feed, but all she wants to do is see her friends and have fun. Stefan promises her he will take her to Matt and her friends after they hunt.

A Party Before The Full Moon

At the swimming hole, Mason shows to tell Tyler to have everyone out of the party there by nightfall. Caroline arrives at the party finally, and she seems to be developing a bond with oh so serious Stefan. At Duke, Vanessa helps the trio find a wolf legend from Aztecs that is known in Mystic Falls. The research doesn't seem to have much new about Katherine though. Apparently, a werewolf bite is fatal to vampires, so vampires killed most of them off centuries ago. Night falls, and the party is still on-going. Elena calls Stefan to warn him about she heard about the legend. Caroline is still trying to make it up to Matt after everything. She can now be somewhat normal with him. She is just Caroline on level ten instead of level five. When Stefan learns about the legend, he looks for Caroline, but she has run off with Matt. He rushes to find her before Mason turns with the full moon.

Elena is still trying to figure out the connection between her and Katherine, but she is unable to find anything in Isobel's research. However, Damon seems to know something, and he isn't sharing because of the state of things with him and Elena. Stefan is still in the woods by the swimming hole, and it looks like Mason has broken loose of his chains. Stefan must now run from the wolf on the loose and look for Caroline. Damon finally helps Elena. He gives her a book that is about Katherine. He finds it because the book is labeled with her last name, Petrova. Damon asks her for forgiveness in his own way. Can she forgive him eventually?

A Chase Through The Woods

Caroline is finally located, but it sounds like the wolf has found her as well. Matt hears something as Caroline loses control just a little when they are kissing. However, she ends up losing control completely and biting Matt. He knows what she is now. There is no way he couldn't. The wolf finds Caroline and Stefan, but they run. However, Tyler stops the wolf from continuing to attack Caroline. They survive. Stefan handles Tyler, and she handles Matt. Neither will remember anything that happened. At least Tyler now knows the family secret! As for Matt, he can't deal with Caroline's drama, so he breaks up with her. This could be for the best for now. When Alaric and Elena return from Duke, he makes it clear he wants her sister. He is ready to move on.

Damon also makes his own turn. He is honest with Elena about her brother, and he apologizes for what he did. His honesty doesn't mend things. She will not forgive him. He accuses her of manipulating and using him for the information he had. He tells her she is more like Katherine than she thinks. Ouch! The next morning, Katherine shows up once again, She has plans for Caroline. What does she have up her sleeve? That will wait til next week. Another strong episode for "Vampire Diaries" on CW.
