I know, all moms have to gloat about how wonderful their baby is. I try not to unless it's something really big. I remember when my friends that had kids when I didn't would gloat about e.v.e.r.y. little thing their child did. Well, I know it sounds rough, but it got old. It's like "Oh my god! Her first drool!" ... "Oh my god, her first time taking her socks off!" ... "Oh my god! She pooped and it went up to her neck!" You get the picture.
I mean, really. After the big accomplishments of their kids came about; smiling, holding toys, socially laughing, crawling, walking, talking ... I was already tired of hearing about all the other stuff, I hadn't really cared about the new stuff that I should have been excited about. So I vowed that I would not be that type of mom.
I didn't brag at Ava's first day of rolling, crawling, saying anything ... unless, of course, you were my sisters or parents. I sent them pictures and videos of everything. Still do. But now that my sister lives close to my parents, now she can share videos of Ava with them. It all works out in my mind anyway.
So, without further ado, here are some of Ava in motion. Walking all on her own. She started with a few steps when she was 10 months old. She actually took 3 steps on September 11, all by herself. But for all intents and purposes, she started walking (to me) when she was 11 months old.
This is before she takes off. She's a little nervous.
She didn't start from the last location. It just didn't feel right, I guess. So she went to the loveseat to give it a whirl from that side of the room. Crawled there, of course.
Second step! Notice the hand in the mouth. I think she might actually be getting teeth (she still has none).
Another step! Come on, you can do it!
Allllmost there! Another step! She giggles the entire time. It's hilarious.
I made it! YAY! Now where can I go from here?!
Well, that's it. Ava's for sure walking now! My big girl!
