In no surprise to anyone, Lindsay Lohan's probation has been revoked by a Los Angeles judge. Her recent failure to pass a drug test was the cause.
Lohan confessed via her Twitter account on Friday that she had violated the terms of her probation, saying she was "prepared to appear before Judge Fox next week as a result." Said Judge Elden Fox signed a bench warrant for Lohan's arrest today but is holding it until the hearing, which will be held at 8:30 AM on Friday.
Lindsay Lohan has been under supervised probation after being convicted of driving while drunk in a 2007 incident. Part of her probation has been to submit to regular drug tests.
The probation started after Lohan finished a 23-day stint in drug rehab and 13 days in prison as a penalty for violating the last terms of probation she was under. Fox took over Lohan's case when she was released and ordered her to undergo the random drug testing as well as behavioral therapy and drug and alcohol counseling.
Lindsay Lohan might be starting to wake up based on her tweets. Another comment she made on Twitter read, "This was certainly a setback for me, but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences."
When Lindsay Lohan first started out, she seemed to have a lot of promise. She's been squandering it lately, with a crash-and-burn risk only exceeded by Britney Spears. The fact Lindsay's mother is in denial about her daughter's issues would seem to make it worse. But Judge Fox's mandated therapy and counseling might be taking hold.
Or else Lindsay Lohan's just mouthing the words in hopes of a lesser sentence. Who can say? What do you think?
