We went for a long ride over the weekend and decided to go to a pretty place in Bedford, PA. We have passed it a million times over the years, but had never stopped in. So, Saturday was the day.
It turned out to be a wonderful place. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is just beautiful. It is a tavern, restaurant and bed and breakfast. The ride to it is very scenic and is especially great in the fall when the leaves are brilliant colors. There are several state parks around the area and other site seeing places.
We went in the tavern area to get a bite to eat. I decided to try Buffalo for the first time. I had heard from many people that it is good and better for you than beef. There is a local buffalo farm close to the place. The place was very busy and everyone was so friendly. We struck up conversations with several people setting at the bar while we were waiting for our meals.
After our meals we went upstairs to see the rooms and walk around the grounds. It would be a great place to stay.
By the way, my buffalo was very good. I love trying new foods.
Here are a couple of photos I took. I actually forgot that I had my camera until we were ready to leave.
