In recent "How I Met Your Mother" news, viewers learned that there will be a wedding in the season six premiere episode. Viewers also learned there will be plenty more hints about the future wife of Ted (Josh Radnor), hence the season premiere’s title: Big Days. Talk as of late also has centered around Zooey, played by Jennifer Morrison of “House†fame, who will be Ted’s love interest throughout season six. She’s slated to first appear in episode five.
Yet, Ted isn’t the only HIMYM character to gain a love interest this season. Spoiler! Robin (Cobie Smulders) will take some time to get over Don, but she’ll move on with Max, played by Geoff Stults, whom she meets in the fifth episode of the season as well.
It’s a ‘big’ storyline for Robin, too, but in a different way. “He’s very well endowed,†Cobie Smulders told TV Guide, “She shares that with her friends and I believe the word ‘gherkin’ might be used.â€
Before episode five, though, there’s episode one of season six, where it’s made abundantly clear that the show is going back to an old format. Stand-alone episodes are no more, according to creators/writers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. The show will return to a long story arc, starting with Big Days and ending with the season finale.
In Big Days, Cindy (Rachel Bilson) returns and sets off some serious mother hints, including one that involves the future mother’s...ankle. That sounds like the “How I Met Your Mother†viewers know and love. Hopefully season six really will usher in the greatness of season one and two, when Ted really was on his quest for the mother.
Do you think Max/Geoff Stults will have some staying power? Or will Robin and Barney reunite? And, most importantly, do you think Ted will find the mother, with Cindy’s help, in episode one?
