Comedian Bill Maher decided to use the "N-Word" during his appearance on the Larry King Show. Maher is often known for his offensive and brash humor, but took it to another level by using a racial slur in his interview talk. This comes soon after Maher received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with his girlfriend Cara Saint Maria and dog "Killer" joining him.
During the interview, Bill Maher and Larry King discussed the various potential candidates for president in 2012. Maher brought up remarks made about President Obama's opposition. One bit of remarks came from Newt Gingrich, who Maher said called Obama an "anti-colonial loud tribesmen" which Maher says is "the new Kenya." He said its "Codeword for N-a." Maher said they're unable to say the word, that they can't fathom there's a black president and that's what their focus is on.
Maher goes on to talk about Sarah Palin being a religious nut and not reading books about religion but instead consulting emails from "Prayer Warriors." Still it was his comment to Larry King that has caused a stir, when Maher dropped the N-word. King being the good listener he is, allowed Maher to continue speaking after making the reference, but it's caused a lot of shock.Â
Bill Maher clearly took his commentary a bit too far by using a racial slur rather than just saying the "N-word," which would have illustrated the point he was trying to make. The video is now making the rounds on YouTube of the two minute piece from Maher's interview including his use of the slur. Many will recall the uproar that former "Seinfeld" actor, Michael Richards, caused when using the same racial slur during his stand-up comedy act. Richards eventually went on the air to apologize for the incident.
Will this incident hurt Bill Maher's career in the way it hurt Michael Richards, who infamously used the "N-Word" as part of his comedic act?

Thanks for the article.
Bill Maher is a friend of Minorities : Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Native Americans, etc ... and a defender of their rights.
Bill Maher used the N word in a context of defending Obama against those that can not hide their contempt and hate against the President for being "Black" ( he is also "White" in the same proportion but the haters do not acknowledge that, because for them Obama is only "Black" and period ).
Bill Maher is a Superb Editorialist, Comedian, TV Anchor, Larry King is also a man of compassion, commiseration, benevolence and humanity for others ( like Bill Maher ).
I take off my hat before these two Great Men and before a Great President of the USA : Mr Obama.

It is called an "EQUITABLE SETTLEMENT". That lawyer talk for someone like you. A Larry King Interview and Maher's word. There is a real fountain of facts. In any legal settlement where a "CONTRACT" is involved, then certain concessions are made by both parties to avoid liable claims. In other words! He can't say and They cant say the specifics of his departure, so take you Larry King interview and fly away. You seriously need help. Your venom and lack of tolerance of even the slightest deviation of your personal twisted mantra are alarming enough. You come to Gather which has until now been known as a venue of "CIVIL" behavior and you have turned it into just another troll palace. Try NEWSVINE. They are are very liberal and routinely ban any talk or member that is not. I am sure that that is where you will find your Mutual Admiration Society. Seriously! No more retorts. You are boring and tedious and are not worth any more of my time. Any further reply's will be deleted. Alpha Mike Foxtrot liberal.......
What Seinfeld idiot Michael Richards said was intended to label a man with a word. What Bill Maher said was to state that people like Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich are racists in "politically correct" clothing who have figured out a way to call someone a Ni ... oops, don't want the language Naz ... oops ... well, you get the basic idea!
Or does your racist gut want to continue using it?
Confused black/white Man
I have heard gay people call each other the q.... word.. It doesnt seem to offend them but let someone else call them this same word and its offensive...It should be an offensive word no matter who says it... THis is what you call double standards.....
An Ashamed Black Man
i didn't hear anyone white /black/yellow/hispanic/or any one else
come to the aid of Dr. Laura
she didn't use the "n" word in any derogatory way and yet no one came to her aid
i guess u have to be someone from the left to be able to call someone names
Maher is fully aware of this and I suspect finds it as funny as I do.
Carlos your racist, idiotic comments have set US black men back 1oo years! They are so stupid they do not even deserve comment. Please at least read what I wrote before spewing your racist rant. I am black but do not use the word, which I am sure you do, because I have a better vocabulary. You are a disgrace to all men and humans black and white. Try to shed your racist views and someday you may grow up!
An Ashamed Black Man
Well Dave, the point that I was making is that no one should use the word or any words of hate. I do know that some people who use words of hate to make fun of one another try to circumvent the power of the original word by using it juxtaposed for dude, friend, guy, etc... I am not a black man or bi-racial. I am married to a black woman and worship side by side with all types of races. When you call yourself a confused black/white man I agree with you about that. Love yourself stand up against hate! Don't contradict yourself like you have here.
You should rethink your comment.
Spin it any way you want, if Maher was conservative all holly hell would have broken loose and not this sweep it under the rug deal.
At least I now know you feel comfortable with the usage of the N word. Nice to know you would use it or promote it's use.
Do your friends on Gather know you approve of the usage?
Since my family is multiracial, I will go with how they feel. Which makes your spin mute.
That is what my family has believed and will continue you believe.
I will not respond to your bigotry again.
