Our next model in Models Among Us is one everyone can relate to. He's been around a long, long time and is called different names by different people. He is also represented in different ways. When we hear the word "Grandfather" ~ most of us think of our parent's father.
My two "grandfathers" have left this world, but the memories I have of them remain alive. They both served in the military. One smoked a pipe, played various musical instruments, wore a cowboy hat and boots. The other was a farmer, fisherman, great story teller, and used wax to roll the ends of his mustache. Both were family men, hardworking, and dedicated to those they loved. I didn't call either of them "Grandfather" or "Granddaddy". They were "Grandpa".

Also when I think of the word Grandfather or Granddaddy, it reminds me of this video, "Grandfather's Song".
Then of course there is Grandfather Mountain located in North Carolina. Maybe you have been there.
We can't forget Granddaddy Long Legs and the myth of his deadly venom.

Grandfather clocks are widely known time keepers and grace many homes.

Now that you have some ideas of the new model, let's review the rules. There was some confusion with the first challenge and if you aren't sure about something just ask.
Submit your photos, images, stories, poems, etc. to the group, Models Among Us, by midnight (Central Time) on September 30th.
Tag your submissions with:Â models among us, models, life, grandfather
Please only submit a total of five entries. These can be 5 photos/images or 5 posts or a combination which totals five (i.e. 3 photos, 2 poems). If you submit more than 5, I will accept the first 5 and decline the rest.
Your submissions should be relatively new. I would like to see things not previously posted on Gather. Try to make sure your submissions are no older than 6 months.
Be creative. Your submissions can be photo essays, stories, poems, photographs, drawings, and other artwork.
Have fun!!!

I was going to spotlight your work in the weekend edition of Today on Gather. However I think I will wait and see what your next challenge for your new group is and spotlight your group instead. When will you be posting it? I love this challenge but fear that I don't have time to do a post justice for the theme in the few hours left in the challenge.
I will be posting the new challenge in just a bit and will send you an email when I get it done. I appreciate you mentioning it and hopefully it will encourage others to participate.
The next model is up and should be very interesting and fun too. Maybe you can check it out. I hope you have a great weekend, Lynn. Thanks again!
