Angel Food Ministries is a great way to stretch your food budget.

They have a monthly menu and even have online ordering now if you are paying with a credit or debit card.  They also accept food stamps (you need to order in person) and you can buy gift cards for people that you know use the service already or perhaps to introduce it to someone.

There is no financial check to use it, so no matter your reasons or needs you can order through them.

We have found it to be an excellent service, friendly people, good food, and most definitely recommend it.

I noticed when I ordered from October's menu not only do they have the holiday "boxes" set up for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but they now have a box for kids after school snacks.

I use this service already. It has really cut down the cost of groceries. The food is really good.

most definitely.

our local pick up point stopped so I had to pick a new one. (granted there are usually a few nearby) We hadn't used it since then (a few months) and they actually called us to check up on us...well, that was it, I picked a new pick-up location and made an order for October :)

Our town has started delivering the boxes to disabled people since there were so many that could not get there to pick up the boxes:)
That service has been so helpful, i order at least 2 boxes a month now:)

We love Angel Food. There are always a couple of things in the boxes that we don't use, but we're happy to pass it along to someone else who can use it and it's still a great value. and what we have used has been excellent, for the most part.

I haven't found anything we hadn't used yet...but I am sure if we did we could find someone to pass it along to as well...

This is a fantastic thing. I've heard so many good things about it and we have some local churches participate. Plus I've seen the "menus" in the local newspaper. We get some of our food from another local pantry, but this one's probably even better. I wonder if there are any organic ones like this? I've heard there's also one in Michigan that features fresh produce, and I bet that idea is catching on too. Thanks for posting this!

I do believe that some of the "boxes" are things like organic, fruits and veggies, etc.

I usually just order the main category. It's enough for a week of dinners for my family of four.

For October I ordered the after school snack one too...thought my daughters would enjoy that.

I've used it many times and the food is always fresh. I don't think I've ever had a problem with anything I've gotten from Angel Food Ministries.

since they don't have any forms to fill out or financial requirements it is very easy to use to help stretch your food budget no matter what your circumstances :)
