Stop the DREAM ACT! It is an Amnesty act!!

I received this from the Coalition against Illegal Immigration group, that I belong too. It is imperative that we stop this before it is too late. I knew what this was when it was announced, and this is an abnsolute joke! He is trying to make it sound all nice to trick people for voting for amnesty...it isn't going to happen. It is time to get on the horn with our elected cockroaches and let them know that it will be in their best interests not too vote for this!

The Democrats know they are in trouble and think they can get votes before the November Election ( Legal or illegal votes ). See below, an email-er by La Raza ( translates to "The Race"Â ) . Their motivations, which are tax supported for their race only. La Raza and Univision are working over time in close support with the Democrats who are willing to sell out Americans for a few votes. Even knowing that millions more Americans will lose their jobs, homes, safety and unfortunately many more Americans will be killed by illegal immigrants. But, Obama and the Democrats see this as "Ok" as long as they can buy a few votes with green cards. See below email from La Raza ( The Race ). The Dream Act is a clever but obvious back door Amnesty to let illegal immigrants use their children to "Anchor" in the whole family. Then later bring in their relatives. A "benefit" NOT given to honest immigrants who wait honestly and pay all the proper fee's and who want to be
"Americans". The DREAM ACT is a back door Amnesty and MILLIONS of Americans will lose if this passes. These Millions of illegal immigrants that get this Amnesty will bring in Millions of their relatives. YOUR taxes WILL go UP. Americans will face increase crime and MORE Americans WILL lose their jobs. These are facts. Our American minorities will have to share limited tax dollars for special programs with these MILLIONS. And the Democrats think that a certain number of Americans are expendable. Do you think even one American is expendable ? I don't and I have spent over 20 years of my life in the Military defending America. You can defend America by telling your Politicians NO to ANY ANY Amnesty and voting out the Democrats this November to make sure that Obama and the Democrats can never FORCE Amnesty. And pass this on to ALL your email lists ! The Democrats dont want Americans to know about this till its too late. So, please pass this on as soon as

There is an economic nuance to this, and it is a very real issue.

The dream act is targeted at children who we paid to educate, The nation has huge investments in each of these young people, and if we deport them we literally send all of that investment to their home countries.

Well, we shouldn't have paid for them....that is why we're in this mess. They are illegals because their parents are illegals....there is no compassion. I refuse to pay for people who will make my children expendable. We as Americans, are not expendable. This is a joke of an act! It is absurd and should not pass. We spend more than 12 billion a yr on illegal aliens....if we deport them our economy will definitely recover, and it will do so quickly. Then we will be heading in the right direction.

There ought to be a statute of limitations on deportations. Say seven years of living in the country without getting into trouble, and you get a visa.

Yes I do Nora, the system now is bitterly unfair to young people who have been educated in Public Schools. Though we don't seem to realize the fact that every resident pays property, and mill taxes either through mortgage or rent payments, and in one way or another the salaries paid even illegal residents are taxed as well.

Give me a break! They are ILLEGAL!!! Therefore, not our problem! They shouldn't have been admitted to school in the first place. We need a law to state that as well...Then maybe they will stop coming here, they are holding our kids back!

Michelle Witt. The law is designed to benefit the People in this country. Unjust laws are UNJUST, but they are still laws. If it were decreed tomorrow that all women had to give up their jobs, it would be the law. Women in the workforce would be illegal. What you are arguing is that your self interest comes ahead of the welfare of children.

No...I am not. If they are here illegally, which they are, then the law does not apply to them. Therefore, they should NOT be allowed to educate them...they all need to go! End of story! I think she is questioning cause they can get jobs, house loans, and most public assistance. IT wouldn't surprise me if they were granted FAFSA! There not even American which is why this is just plain crazy! But you know that!

It really sucks to be born American! American children whose parents have been here many generations are in desperate need of these programs! We have a shortage of engineers because our schools, starting with elementary school are woefully substandard! Then when you get to college, too many Americans can't afford college! We are more than willing to take care of others, just not our own!

Thomas, four budding engineers High School touched this debate off at the National Science Fair in Washington DC. The had been brought to the USA as infants, and were not found out till they won a Statewide Science fair and a trip to the Nationals. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SEND THOSE PEOPLE TO MEXICO OR GUATEMALA?

I would just like to clear up to everyone who is saying that citizenship is gonna be given to these BRIGHT kids. It will not. This is just a PATH to citizenship that will last at least eight years. These kids will first be given CONDITIONAL residency and finish school or join the military and THEN APPLY for residency but it is not for certain that it will be given to them, then wait at least five years to apply for citizenship, pay the fee of the test and pass it. Show that they have commited no crimes and are contributing to this country. It is a WIN WIN situation. If we let these kids finish high school, why not help them go to college and GIVE BACK to the country??!!! It is IMPOSSIBLE to send all these kids back to a country they most likely DON"T REMEMBER... They will also not be allowed any pell grants but only be able to pay the same fees as the rest of the students since now they have to pay three times as much and be able to get jobs to PAY for college and be able to get LOANS that they eventually have to PAY BACK. We're not giving anything for free like Michelle says. They will be given STUDENT LOANS Karl, not just given the money. I don't know where you guys get your information but please educate yourselves before making STUPID comments. So Carol, you're wrong, they can't submit any citizenship petitions until a LONG TIME from now. Think of the positives that these kids can give back, become professionals in fields that need people and pay their taxes, buy homes, drive LEGALLY, not live in fear of being sent back to a strange place. That is what America is all about! Helping people and making their dreams come true.

I have done my hw....I don't listen to the Potus or his admin because they are all liars and master manipulators....or at least they try to be, but most of us are tired of the BS! They all need to go back....It is not our problem that their parents brought them here illegally. They are still illegal and should be deported, period. They need to pay the consequences just like their parents.

If the DREAM Act is passed next week, any illegal alien would be able to submit a petition for citizenship for themselves (and later sponsor their relatives), in which they claim to meet certain age requirements, etc., but there is no provision in the DREAM Act that requires the aliens to provide proof that the claims are true. This proposal reminds me of the bank bailouts, where bankers were handed billions of dollars, but were not required to disclose what they did with the money.

Carol, there is barely a mustard seed of truth in that statement. The dream act has powerful protections built in. It applies only to children brought here illegally. The must have graduated from high school. They must spend at least two years either in military service or successful College level education, and then they are granted Temporary Visa's. The right wing is using your fear of immigrants to manage your voting. It is a good plan. And that is according to Colin Powell who said this Sunday that he supports the legislation.

Not true Carol, Any Alien High School Graduate who has been in the country over 7 years, and is 17 to 35 years of age is covered by the dream act and it permits College Entrance to qualified applicants and also permits Military service. On completion of at least two years of Military service or Two years of college a Temporary 7 year work visa would be issued, and at the end of that time the individual would be eligible to apply for citizenship consideration.

DO YOU THINK DEMOCRATS ARE REALLY TRYING TO DO THIS COUNTRY IN? OR IS THAT JUST PROPAGANDA?

Collective rights = no individual rights. we have unalienable rights given to us by our creator-GOD. This administration is walking all over them. The Constitution is the ONLY solution to this issue. Reid is a crook going after the Hispanic vote in his state. The man should be burned at the stake for his disloyaty to citizens! They've tied this bill to the Defense Funding, to vote "No" is a vote against funding for our brave soldiers, to vote "Yes" is to vote for college subsidies and welfare benefits the 16-35 year old "children" of illegal aliens! Thanks for the additional info on Reid. Lyndon Johnson is historic on his payments for votes. That's how he won his various races in Texas. Pun intended.

Personally, I'm feeling such aggravation at Reid, to sway votes he risks ruining this nation by continually spending money we do not have and pushing policies that are detrimental to the welfare of our country. He's a traitor equal to the reward of a firing squad.

As an older college student who has over 10K in loans and no clue how I will pay them back (Michigan unemployment rates highest in the nation) I am absolutely disgusted that someone else who breaks the law to come here gets a free ride and my tuition goes up to help pay for them.

All they will be given is being able to pay the same amount of money at school than you and be able to get loans as well to be able to go to school and get a ssn so they can get a job and PAY for school. They are NOT being given school for free!!! What are you guys talking about??!!!!!! They are given a PATH to citizenship, an EIGHT year path, AT LEAST. They won't have more rights than you, they will be given almost the same rights as the Americans they were raised to be and ARE and help and give back to the country.

Just learned there won't be a vote on the DREAM Act today. I am so thankful for America’s efforts to save our country from this backdoor amnesty. I confess I haven't voted in several years, and wasn't even aware when amnesty was granted in 1987, but that will change. I've witnessed firsthand now what has happened to my hometown and my country when foreigners have access to our health care and welfare systems and are free to roam our streets with no driver's licenses or insurance. My mother lost her transportation this way because she only had liability insurance when they ran a stop sign and totaled her car. They didn’t have brakes, either.
