The 4th album of Trey Songz, 'Passion, Pain and Pleasure' was released September 14th, 2010. The R&B singer took to UStream earlier this month to give a preview of a few tracks to his fans. Trey Songz even called and talked to a few lucky listeners of Passion, Pain and Pleasure during the live broadcast.
Songz also talked about some of the tracks that were leaked from the album such as "Doorbell" and "Love Faces". Trey Songz said, "Shout out to everybody who didn't listen to the leaks," he said. But the singer brushed off the premature release of some of his tracks, adding, "Bootleggers gotta eat. I ain't mad at y'all boys."
Some of the lyrics on 'Love Faces' are "wouldn't it be nice if all night I was in you?" Trey Songz drove the girls wild with his smooth voice saying, "That thang cold, y'all, that thang cold," after the song was over.
In the song 'Doorbell', Trey Songz sings lyrics such as "put my lips all over you/ Wanna put on a show for you/ This bedroom is my Colosseum/ Ring my bell, I'll let you in".
However, according to the Associated Press, Trey Songz Passion, Pain and Pleasure is just average. AP writes "Bottoms Up," the lead single, has a club-ready beat, but the lyrics are weak and Nicki Minaj steals Songz's thunder with her animated rhymes. "Unfortunate" starts off nicely, but its hook is annoyingly repetitive while "Red Lipstick" and "Doorbell" feel cheesy. Even the Drake-featured "Unusual" is unnecessary.
