Mario Lopez has long worn many hats. Â The "Saved by the Bell" alumni has done many TV roles and cameos, including a long-standing role on "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "Nip/Tuck", as well as played TV host to shows such as "America's Best Dance Crew" and "Extra". Â Now, as of Saturday, September 11, the actor will take on a new role: that of daddy.
People is reporting that Lopez and his girlfriend, Courtney Mazza, welcomed a daughter yesterday. Â The baby girl weighed 6 lbs., 4 oz. at birth, and is named Gia Francesca Lopez, taking Mario's last name.
"We are so overjoyed," said Lopez, 36. "What an amazing, wonderful and overwhelming experience to welcome our daughter into the world."
So what's up next for Lopez and Mazza? Â A reality show pitch and book deal, of course!
"There's so much out there for women but not so much for men, and I want to be a very hands-on dad," he said. "I think having a humorous but informative way to tell that story would be great for a show."
While nobody would is criticizing his desire to be a hands-on dad, do we really need another celebrity reality TV show about parenthood? Â What do you think?
