The New England Patriots will play their home opener against the Cincinnati Bengals today at 1PM EST. The Pats are a perfect 8-0 in home openers at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
The weather in Foxboro now, at 11AM is cloudy, drizzly, and chilly. The weather is supposed to remain on the cooler side, but any steady rain should hold off for the game.
The Cincinnati Bengals are the reigning AFC North Champions, and are expected to put up a good fight against The Pats, who have beat them the last three times the teams have met (Patriots.com).
This game will be interesting for Pats fans because Wes Welker (who was injured last season) is back and scheduled to play. Also, Patriots QB Tom Brady was in a car accident on Thursday. Although he is "okay" as far as broken bones, it's possible that he could be sore or stiff from the collision. It's assumed that if Brady plays poorly, fans will blame it on his accident.
The last time these two teams met was in 2007, and the Patriots were victorious, 34-13 on Bengals turf.
The Patriots are the pick for the win, almost across the board. We hope Chad Ochocinco brought his dancing shoes!
