A lawyer for the real estate investor in the proposed mosque building claims Trump's offer to buy him out is "just a cheap attempt to get publicity and get in the limelight." Trump's letter released Thursday offered to give the investor 25% more than what he paid for it. Trump also stated, "I am making this offer as a resident of New York and citizen of the United States, not because I think the location is a spectacular one (because it is not), but because it will end a very serious, inflammatory, and highly divisive situation that is destined, in my opinion, to only get worse." He also imposed the condition that the mosque people promise to relocate at least five blocks away from Ground Zero. We now know his offer of $6 million was turned down, but in my opinion it was a valiant effort by Mr. Trump to bring a resolution to this highly controversial mosque. In the rejection, the lawyer, Wolodymyr Strarosolsky, put forth the figure of $20 million.
What's your thinking in all this-do you think Donald Trump's proposal was a good faith effort? Or do you agree with Starosolsky that Trump was just in it for the publicity? I've provided a link fro Trump's letter below:

Have some doubt about the authenticity of the letter, but you can judge for yourself.
1) It will give him a choice real estate deal and some positive PR
2) It would rescue the US from the minister's inane idea that threatens the entire US and our warriors giving the Muslims more reason to hate America
Agreed.
... About the limelight ... All Trump has to do is walk down the street or cough, and it's news. He doesn't need to "attempt" to get publicity.

In response to the "investor" response of ""just a cheap attempt to get publicity and get in the limelight." Trump controls the limelight! This would be a $2 million profit for the "investor", he's either holding out for more money or his ulterior motive is just what the moderate muslims have said... to make a victory memorial for the terrorists...
This iman/investor situation reminds me of that joke.
Trump made this claim in a CNN phone interview, and describes the investor as a "low-level real estate guy."
I heard that radio interview. And since Trump has met the guy, guess Trump could be correct; which means Nora could also be correct lol ( "Well, we've established what you are, it's just the money we're haggling over"... )
Thanks for posting this to 4 US, World News & Opinions.
I actually don't believe everything I read or see in the news these days.
