Tropical storm, Hermine made landfall, tonight, about 8:30 pm CST. Packing winds of 65 miles an hour, it's making a beeline for the inland cities of San Antonio and as far north as Dallas.
This storm snuck up on us or should I say, me! I follow the weather very religiously. My hubby calls me whenever one of his passengers wants to know what the weather is going to be like!! LOL
Where I live, there's a creek that overflows anytime it rains, heavily, which has me very nervous. When it does overflow, my street becomes a river.
Our local weatherman predicts anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of rain for us. I hope Tropical storm Hermine passes us by swiftly because if she slows down, we could, very easily, recieve more than this!!
I'll have to listen to the news to find out if my daughter's school will be closed tomorrow. I'm not a strong swimmer, so, if we are given orders to evacuate because of the rising water, I'm calling George to get our daughter and leaving to the nearest shelter, but, I hope this won't come to pass.
We've lived at our home for close to 10 years and I've never seen the water come up any higher than our sidewalk curb!!! You can understand why this storm has me on pins and needles.
