A Sad morning~ UPDATE

In Charles Town West Va. this morning around 5 a.m., a fire broke out in a stable next to the Hollywood Casino by the Charles Town racetrack.  So far, they say over 40 horses are dead. Two workers are being treated, but that is all I've heard so far.  This is about an hour from where I live. I use to work at the track years ago.

I keep watching the news to hear more about it, but the news is limited right now.

I can not imagine how horrible this is for whoever owns this stable and the horses.   My heart just breaks for these poor horses.

*Update~ 28 horses died, not 40.  The fire was caused by a spark from a transformer closeby.  Tourists and locals helped round up stray horses. Two were found wandering around a 7-11.  After everything was over,firefighters were digging around searching and found a few kittens that survived. *

Oh how awful! Especially since I know how horses react to fire, it must have been a terrifying way to die.

Just saw the update. Still horrible, but at least there was not as many lives lost as originally thought.
