Truthout.org has so many articles this time that I had a really tough time deciding which link to post.

I finally decided on William Rivers Pitt's Article, "Hatred and Stupidity, But I repeat Myself." As with all of Pitt's blogs, there is some acerbic humor, some irony, and a large measure of good sense. I caution Sarah Palin and Tea Baggers supporters, you will not like it.  http://www.truth-out.org/hatred-and-stupiditybut-i-repeat-myself62916

I realize that not everyone votes, and not everyone votes based on issues, but rather on party. It's a sad fact for this country that many areas even have a "Vote all party" on the ballots. If more politicians would talk about issues rather than mud slinging, I believe more people would be interested in voting, and then more politicians would be voted in based on issues instead of slander.
The political situation as a whole needs reformed to get government to the point where they are For the People, By the People and Of the People. Until they can bring themselves to represent those of us they were elected to represent instead of their own self interests, we can't have peace.
Admit it, both parties engage in the same underhanded dealings. Whoever is in power complains about the opposite party. It's been going on for years.
Please excuse me while I laugh myself silly.... Given the fact that the Democrats are trying to spread the lie that Republicans are still wanting to privatize Social Security, given that the Democrats have outright lied about things supposedly said by the Tea Party, given that the Democrats couldn't have gotten Obama elected had he been White, given that both parties have repeatedly pulled underhanded, illegal, dirty, under the table deals, I can't see how anyone can seriously believe one party is better than the other.
Can you point out one Rep. President since Eisenhower that has done anything for the middle-class and the poor? and Eisenhower's contribution was that he refused to allow the Republicans to dismantle Social Security.
Oh, and thank you all for pointing out that the Constitution of the United States doesn't mean it's actually for the US Citizens, but for those who wish to trespass into this country illegally. How silly of me to think otherwise. Democrats truly are the wisest of us all....
As for the Bush Tax cuts, the rich weren't the only ones that benefited. As it stands, Obama is planning to extend the cuts to individuals making less than $200,000/year and families making less than $250,000/year. Since these people were included in the original cuts, it doesn't stand to reason that only the rich benefited by the cuts.
As for NAFTA, it passed by a vote of 61 to 38, a bipartisan vote. If the Republicans strong armed the Democrats for this vote, the Democrats have nobody to blame but themselves. If they were so weak they would roll over and let the evil money grubbing Republicans bully them, how can you believe they were acting in the best interest of those they were supposed to represent?
I tried to stand down and let this end. Since you refuse to do so, I will stand by my facts, from unbiased sources, and continue to dispute your facts from biased sources.
Thanks for the good laugh, too. I always enjoy reading people's opinions that aren't based on truth. That's why I tried to stop earlier. I was laughing too much. People were looking at me funny.
Also, I would like to apologize for my rudeness. I don't usually resort to crass language. I thank you for keeping your end of it civil despite my slip.
don't actually represent the feelings of most of us.
