"Dancing with the Stars" contestant Jennifer Grey has been diagnosed with cancer. Will this impact her appearance on "Dancing with the Stars?"
According to AZCentral, it was Grey's pre-DWTS checkup that was key in discovering the cancer. She had been experiencing neck pain, but attributed it to a previous car accident. She believed that the nodule on her neck was benign. That was definitely not the case.
The good news, however, if that when the doctor removed the nodule from Grey's neck, it was determined that all of the cancer was neatly contained on the inside. That means she won't have to undergo any follow up treatments like radiation or chemotherapy, and she has been officially given a clean bill of health.
Will this impact Jennifer Grey's appearance on "Dancing with the Stars?" No. The actress will be ready to go when rehearsals begin.
The Post Chronicle reports that this cancer scare has given Jennifer Grey a new lease on life. At 50 years old she is determined to do "Dancing with the Stars" before she "gets too old." She was floored when learning that she had cancer, and didn't even dare think beyond the surgery to remove the nodule.
She says, "I was so frightened of the surgery, I didn't want to even consider that it would be successful. And it was so successful, I proceeded to do everything else on my to-do list that I was afraid of, including doing this show."
Jennifer Grey's attitude is to be commended. She has definitely been given a second chance that some cancer patients don't receive. Hopefully her attitude will be contagious among the DWTS contestants and fuel everyone with some uplifting optimism as they begin their new season.
