Paris Hilton, 29 years old and arrested for possession of cocaine after being pulled over by a motorcycle cop who suspected the smoke coming from her Cadillac Escalade while driving down the Las Vegas strip smelled of marijuana. According to the cop and omg! Yahoo, the bag of cocaine fell directly from Paris Hilton’s purse. Caught red handed.
If you think this is the first time this year Paris Hilton has officially been arrested for drug possession allegations you may be surprised to hear that this is actually the second time Paris Hilton has been arrested just this year alone for drug possession allegations. You would think after a first go around with jail time for 45 days in 2007 for alcohol related reckless driving that Paris Hilton would govern herself in a manner that would keep her out of the slammer. Not so. The previous charges earlier this summer for possession of marijuana were dropped by authorities in South Africa, yet Paris Hilton cannot seem to keep herself clean. The officer, police Sgt. John Sheahan, involved in Hilton’s arrest stated that he “followed the vapor trail and the odor of marijuana to the Escalade.†Sounds like Paris Hilton was not only breaking the law but has such low respect for the law that she barely attempted to hide the distinctive smell of marijuana.
If convicted of a low grade felony for possession of drugs including cocaine, Paris Hilton will get probation, but if she were to violate that probation she could be punished with spending one to four years in Nevada state prison. The question is, will Paris Hilton serve her probation or proper time in jail once convicted, or will she once again skate free with only minimal jail time and a reduced sentence like many other celebrity offenders?
