When I arrived in Florida, I had 4 days with my sister and her family before my daughter and her family got there. The second day there I took a walk around her 5 acres and noticed a tree down and cut into chunks. Seeing some of them hollowed out I got this bright idea and asked my bil to bring them up to the front of the house. We made planters out of them and in one of them we set a shepherds hook to hang her hummingbird feeder on. It still looked kind of bare so we decided to dress it up a bit with shells. Susan and I rounded up our daughters and her daughter in law and headed for the beach to hunt shells. We also gathered smooth pebbles to make an even base for the bird bath.

First layout but it needed something to set it off.

Susan and Kelli in the water and Balinda talking to them.

Of course I was wading in the water when I shot this picture. It was such a beautiful day.

Once they were cleaned up the shells really set off the planters.

We shared with the bird bath and gnome too. Bro in law plans to repaint them soon.

Can't wait for the plants to fill out. Sue promised me pictures every couple of weeks.

I think the shells helped. They are going to add to them when ever they go to the beach.

We added two more stumps with tomato plants in them on the end but didn't get a picture of that. Earl is going to build a porch on the front eventually and the planters will be moved but for now I like them.
