Unfortunately it doesn't look like the gang over at the "Jersey Shore" are going away anytime soon. With all of the merchandise connected to the show, the guidos and guidettes are going to earn tidy sum of money. None more so than Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who is expected to earn $5 million by the end of the year.
Sorrentino earns $60,000 an episode on the "Jersey Shore" and charges $15,000-$50,000 for public appearances. He has also released a workout video, a vitamin supplement line with GNC and he has a number of endorsement deals with various companies. Sorrentino also has a book deal with Gotham Books to write his autobiography. His main focus seems to be "Gym, Tan and Laundry". How riveting is his biography going to be? Watch for it in the bargain bin once his 15 minutes of fame is over.
So, is forget a 9 to 5 job. Don't worry about furthering your education. Work on a reality show and the world is your oyster. Kind of disgusting to see so many people out of work and Sorrentino is handed $5 million for doing pretty much nothing. Great job.
