Grammy award winning singer Faith Evans was arrested for a DUI by officers. Evans is the widow of the Notorious B.I.G aka Christopher Wallace, and she was stopped on Saturday night at a DUI checkpoint located near Marina Del Rey in Los Angeles.
Police at the scene arrested her, and she was booked with a DUI. The singer’s car was impounded, but she was released on bail Sunday morning according to TMZ.
According to CBS, Evans won the Grammy in 1998 for the famous song “I’ll Be Missing You,†which was about her late husband Biggie Smalls. Evans is currently working on two big projects. First she is in production with a new reality show featuring her life. She also plans to release her latest album in October.
Her charges were a misdemeanor, which does not carry as heavy a penalty as a felony charge. This DUI arrest is not Evans’ first run-in with the law though. In 2004, she was charged with drug possession, and she entered a rehab facility. Hopefully this DUI arrest is a wake-up call for Faith Evans, and she will not continue to drive under the influence. The results of drinking and driving could have been so much worse for her. Thankfully the police stopped her before she hurt herself or someone else.
