The toilet of J.D. Salinger is being sold on eBay, and even though Mr. Salinger is deceased since January 27TH of this year, his toilet is still moving around the Internet. The toilet is being auctioned for $1 million dollars, and the owner guarantees that it is the actual toilet of the author.
The toilet is best described as white, and it is a toilet. In fact the porcelain bowl is to be guaranteed as the one "Personally Owned and Used" by Mr. Salinger. To say more of the very basic toilet would be silly other than it is about as standard a toilet as they come, and you can see the (PHOTO) here in case you may be interested.
You ma
y rest assured that "eBay was careful to also photograph the serial number stamped on the toilet, along with a letter from the new owners of Salinger's house, the ones who had the toilet removed and replaced, and then decided on an auction. The letter is dated April 16, 2010," according to The Post Chronicle.
The listing boasts that the toilet comes to you uncleaned, so you can be assured it remains as he has sat on it. This is no joke, but it is weird. So far there are no bidders, but it wouldn't be surprising if someone bids. If $1 million is too high for you, eBay is allowing you to make an offer on the potty. J.D. Salinger is most famous for his work, "Catcher in the Rye." You can see the toilet here.
J.D. Salinger was born on New Years Day in 1919, and he died in January of 2010. He was raised in Manhattan, New York, and was known as recluse. Being a recluse he would not have appreciated his toilet being sold so publicly.
