Uggghh! I "Lost" $20...

I can't believe I am so careless. This (past) week CVS has a deal where if you buy $50 worth of Applebee's gift cards, you get $10 back in ECB. We frequent Applebee's and the gift card never expire anyway, so it's a great deal to get money back for dining. And we are allowed to do it twice (total of $20 back in ECB).

But I FORGOT!!!!!!

It's past midnight now, which means the deal is no longer available. Sniff sniff.... I lost $20.

But you never had the money to begin with, so you really didn't lose it. And think of all of the other similar deals you didn't take advantage of, just because you didn't know about them. Economics talks about opportunity costs -- if you choose option A, then that has an opportunity cost where you miss out on B. You just have to choose wisely and then go for it! I'm sure you'll make it up in the future, as you have such an acumen and sense for this. It reminds me of when I used to clip coupons sitting behind my Grandpa Norman in his easy chair -- that was a really long time ago! Thanks for posting this and I'm sure you'll triumph again before you know it!!

That sucks.We love applebee's too.

I so agree with Maria's post it note idea! I seriously have note pads all over the place.There especially popular on my fridge.There's a grocery list, target deals...and what I'm going for that week, and then any other deals or things I need to do.

You didn't really lose anything because you didn't spend anything anyway. There will always be other deals to take advantage of. I am sure they will have another soon.
