Wyler's Authentic Italian Ices Freezer Bars

Yep, Sassy found some more freezer bars.  This summer has been hotter and more humid than average, so freezer bars for everyone!  These Wyler's Italian Ices were priced right, just $1 for six bars, two ounces each.

Wyler's Italian Ices come in two varieties:

• Original - kiwi watermelon, orange creme, lemon, raspberry
• Berry & Cherry mix - strawberry, blue raspberry, cherry, berry lemonade

I purchased the Original, if I had seen the Berry & Cherry mix in the store, I would have dragged those home, too.  The orange, lemon and raspberry are very good, the kiwi watermelon flavor is wonderful!  I'd love to have a stash of just the kiwi watermelon ices in the freezer.  Sixty calories, 14g sugar per bar.

From the box: "naturally and artificially flavored, freeze and serve, fat free, made with real fruit juice".  Okay, but you're not going to find any kiwi, watermelon, orange, lemon or raspberry juice in these.  These contain apple, grape and pear juice.  I'm going to call that the 'bait and switch' of the food industry.  Advertise on the front label that there's real fruit juice in the product, lead consumers to believe it's the same fruits as mentioned on the front of the package, and then zing the consumers with apple, grape or pear juice.  This isn't the first time I've noticed this practice.

On a scale of one to ten, Sassy awards Wyler's Italian Ices a 7.  They are very tasty on a hot summer day and the price certainly is right.  Yep, they do contain high fructose corn syrup for a sweetener.
