Bravo star Bethenny Frankel is always outspoken, but recent comments made by supermodel Gisele Bundchen about breastfeeding have the natural foods chef more up in arms than usual.
Gisele recently told "Harper's Bazaar UK" that "there should be a worldwide law...that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months," a comment that has upset many women, including new mom, Frankel, reports Us Magazine.
"It's the most absurd thing I've ever heard," Frankel, 39, said of the 30-year-old supermodel's statement. "Breastfeeding is one of the most rewarding experiences, but it isn't for everyone," she added.
The woman behind the SkinnyGirl empire recently documented her marriage to Jason Hoppy on the reality show "Bethenny Getting Married?" which followed Frankel's trip down the aisle and the birth of the couple's new baby girl, Bryn.
Bethenny breastfed her daughter on the show, but was not shy about sharing with viewers what a difficult experience it was for her at the beginning.
In addition to the breastfeeding comments, Gisele bragged in the "Harper's" article about her ability to lose the baby weight quickly.
But an enormous backlash from vocal moms and women finally caused the celebrity mom to take to her blog to defend herself. "Everyone has their own experience...I'm not here to judge," she wrote. Married to football star, Tom Brady, Gisele's son Benjamin is about 9 months old.
Gisele needs to get a grip on what real women experience on a daily basis and keep her judgmental comments to herself. Thank God women can look up to moms like Bethenny who are honest about their own experience and open-minded about other people's.
