The family that stars in "19 Kids and Counting" might have to change the name of their show soon, since they say they're ready to consider having a 20th child.
Yikes! Twenty kids?! Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar say they've been come out on top after facing the premature birth of their 19th child, baby Josie, and might be ready to do it again. "Our family is stronger than ever," Jim Bob told People Magazine, reports CNN.com.
After the TLC stars and devout Baptists welcomed Josie into the world, the baby was hospitalized for six months due to a perforated bowel and digestive problems.
"When she first came home, I couldn't sleep at all," says Michelle of her premature baby. "That was the scariest part for me, having the full responsibility of her care on my shoulders ... It was intimidating."
The 43-year-old mom also faces serious medical risks with another pregnancy. She suffered preeclampsia during her pregnancy with Josie - another bout could cause a stroke or be fatal, reports CNN.
Many critics of the enormous family will judge the family's consideration to have a 20th baby. "People think we are overpopulating the world," says Jim Bob, 45.
He disagrees. "We are following our convictions."
Unlike Nadya Suleman, the "Octomom" and mother of 14, the Duggars can at least financially afford another child. The family lives in a large home and earns a good living in real estate and their TLC brand.
But parents of smaller families still might question if all 19 of the Duggar children are getting enough attention from their mom and dad.
When there are medical risks and other potential challenges, is it responsible for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar to bring another child into the world? How many kids is too many??
